Water funding quickly emerging as 82nd Session priority New coalition members and Dallas Morning News support Ritter’s efforts to advance water plan funding this session In a March 18 editorial, the Dallas Morning News astutely noted that, “Communities can’t just wake up one day and realize they need more water. It takes years of planning to supply enough.” The H2O4TEXAS Coalition recognizes this reality, as do our new members. Within the past week the coalition was proud to welcome the following diverse interests: Marathon Oil, Shell Oil, Texas Association of REALTORS, Texas Chemical Council, City of Burleson and Patrick, Miller & Kropf, P.C. It’s clear that the state’s most influential media outlets and a growing list of stakeholders are rallying behind state Rep. Allan Ritter, Chairman of the House Committee on Natural Resources, who has exercised bold leadership through his filing of HJRs 137, 138 and HB 3273. Chairman Ritter's work on this important package of legislation continues, and we look forward to helping him bring private and public sector interests to the table to accomplish his laudable mission for the future of Texas. Existing members and more information regarding the coalition can be found at www.H2O4TEXAS.org. |
