The Secretary of State recently announced that Senate Joint Resolution 4 (SJR 4) was awarded Proposition 2 on the November 8 ballot. In response, the H2O4TEXAS Campaign – a newly created 501(c)4, nonprofit corporation – commenced the Texans for Prop 2 Campaign, which will educate voters about the importance of passing Proposition 2 in November. A new website and social media connections will be released for the campaign in the near future. Stay tuned! State Rep. Lyle Larson recently penned an article featured in the San Antonio Express-News. In addition to stressing the importance of SJR 4, Rep. Larson said, “We're on the right track and Texas is fortunate to have some of the world's best and brightest working on this issue. We just need to get Texans engaged. While missing out on Independence Day fireworks or living with dead landscaping is the extent of most folks' experience with drought today, if we continue to do nothing, ‘drought’ will mean something entirely different tomorrow. Texans must commit to preparing for the future and demand that their elected officials make water planning a top priority.” Wise words, indeed. As the H2O4TEXAS Coalition continues to educate Texans about the state water plan and related measures, we need your help. If you have not already done so, would you please join the coalition and become an active participant in the campaign? The H2O4TEXAS Coalition would like to welcome our new members: Freese and Nichols, Inc., BP Corporation North America Inc., ExxonMobil, C.J. Tredway and Liz Wright. Existing members and more information regarding the coalition can be found at www.H2O4TEXAS.org. P.S. If you are on Facebook, please “ Like” our Facebook page.
